Effect of catalpol on water intake of rats. After given high-fat high-sugar food for 3 weeks, and treatment by STZ for 3 days induced STZ-fat-diabetic rats successfully for 3 weeks. A solution of catalpol at 50 mg/kg or the same volume of vehicle was injected intravenously into rats. Changes of water intake at the indicated time point were compared between the catalpol-treated group (solid circles) and the vehicle-treated group (open circles).
