AKQ reduces plasma viral loads in chronically SHIV89.6-infected Ch-RMs. Nine SHIV89.6-infected Ch-RMs were randomly divided into three groups (n = 3 per group), and treated with 1.65 g/kg/day AKQ (a), 0.55 g/kg/day AKQ (b), or placebo (c) for 8 weeks. The gray-shaded areas indicate the treatment period. The dotted lines indicate the results obtained from individual animals, and the solid lines represent the mean values for the groups. Plasma viral loads were measured by real-time PCR assays with a sensitivity of 100 vRNA copies/mL
