GTE does not induce apoptosis of Jurkat cells or PBMCs. Jurkat cells (a) and PBMCs (b) were treated with GTE at the concentrations indicated for 24 h. The cells were stained with 20 μg/mL propidium iodide (PI) in a hypotonic solution (0.1% sodium citrate and 0.1% Triton X-100). The apoptotic cells were then analyzed by flow cytometry. Data were analyzed with FlowJo software. The left panel is the original apoptosis data. The right panel is quantitative data. The extent of the sub-G0/G1 peak representing apoptotic cells was measured by gating on cells in the region below the G0/G1 peak. Numbers above the bar in the right panel of Jurkat cells (a) and PBMCs (b) are P-values relative to the control group. A significant difference from the control is indicated as **P < 0.01
