PNS induced β cell autocrine signaling response. PNS regulates different genes and proteins at multiple levels. Following the uptake of PNS, it up-regulates gene expression of Hmox1, SOD1, GCLc, Txn1 and PRDX (arrows) while suppressing Gab-1 and CAV-1 gene. Hmox1, SOD1, GCLc, Txn1 and PRDX, takes place in the ROS suppression pathway and inhibit reactive oxygen radicals and hydrogen peroxide.
