Observation of EOS in BALF under the microscope. Eosinophils are round and 13–15 μm in diameter. The cytoplasm is filled with coarse, neat, even, and tightly arranged brick red or bright red eosinophilic particles. The nucleus is a characteristic lobular nucleus, usually 2–3 leaves, spectacle-shaped, dark purple. Eosinophils are easily broken and particles can be dispersed around the cells.
