From: Two methoxy derivatives of resveratrol, 3,3′,4,5′-tetramethoxy-trans-stilbene and 3,4′,5-trimethoxy-trans-stilbene, suppress lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammation through inactivation of MAPK and NF-κB pathways in RAW 264.7 cells

Fig. 8

Effects of 3,3′4,5′-TMS and 3,4′,5-TMS superoxide production in RAW 264.7 cells. a The cells were treated with LPS (1 µg/mL) for 0.5 h, 1 h, 2 h, 4 h, 8 h, and 12 h. b The cells were treated with 3,3′,4,5′-TMS or 3,4′,5-TMS (10 and 50 µM) for 4 h in the absence of LPS. The cells were pretreated with 3,3′,4,5′-TMS or 3,4′,5-TMS (10 and 50 µM) for 4 h and then added with LPS (1 µg/mL) for another 4 h. Representative fluorescence shit and summarized data showing the levels of superoxide production determined using DHE staining with flow cytometry in response to c, d 3,3′4,5′-TMS and e, f 3,4′,5-TMS treatment in LPS-treated cells. Data are expressed as the mean ± SEM, n = 4. #P < 0.05 vs control. *P < 0.05 vs LPS
