From: Angong Niuhuang Wan reduces hemorrhagic transformation and mortality in ischemic stroke rats with delayed thrombolysis: involvement of peroxynitrite-mediated MMP-9 activation

Fig. 4

AGNHW treatment reduced the levels of peroxynitrite and superoxide, as well as the expression of NADPH oxidase subunit p47phox and p67 phox, and 3-nitrotyrosine (3-NT) in transient ischemic stroke rat model with delayed t-PA treatment. A Peroxynitrite (ONOO−) and superoxide (O2.−) levels in the brain tissues: ONOO− and O2.− were detected with HKYellow AM and HEt probe staining respectively in the ischemic brains at about 6 mm away from the frontal tip. B Representative western blot results for the expression of 3-nitrotyrosine (3-NT), p47phox, p67phox, and iNOS in the ischemic brain hemispheres. C Statistical analysis of 3-NT expression. D Statistical analysis of p47phox expression. E Statistical analysis of p67phox expression. F Statistical analysis of iNOS expression. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, n = 10 per group
